For Bill

If you haven't read about Bill, you can read about it on my Crockpot Cruise blog post: Not a happy anniversary.

This is a poem I wrote several years ago:

Forever
Stuck in time, forever a teen
Never growing up,
Somehow it seems
That time has flown by,
The years have gone fast
But I remember the past.
Watching my children,
Remembering my own childhood,
Brothers and sisters
Should grow old together.
But you’re gone forever.
Stuck in time,
Forever a teen.

Plastic red tablecloths for 25 cents each

Today I was in United picking up a few things that were on sale and looked through the Christmas clearance bins at the front. They had red plastic tablecloths marked down to 25 cents. I bought all 8 of them. I can use one for our Valentine's party, and they are super handy just to have around.

Nescafe Free Sample Review: Peppermint Mocha

A while back, through the All You magazine, I signed up to get some free samples of Nescafe instant coffee. I got them yesterday and I tried the first one this morning: peppermint mocha. Oh my goodness! It was wonderful! It was so easy to heat the water in the microwave and just stir it in and it tasted really yummy. If you like coffee and want something easy and yummy to have on hand, I highly recommend trying the Nescafe Peppermint Mocha!

Wal-Mart Deals 12-29-11

I had to go into Enid today to deposit a check, so I went into Wal-Mart. I had some $2 Excedrin coupons I was wanting to use. I got 6 bottles of Excedrin for $1.24 each. They were $3.24 and I had $2 off coupons. Want to know something funny that I have noticed? Excedrin Migraine and Extra Strength Excedrin have the exact same active ingredients in them in the same amounts (acetaminophen, aspirin, and caffeine), but the Excedrin Migraine costs more! The "migraine" medicine was $3.68.

I also got some mini-muffin liners that were 1/2 price because they were "holiday" muffin liners. The gold ones are the nice foil muffin liners, and the red ones are just red with white dots. I figure the kids aren't going to care what their muffins are in and I seem to have a hard time finding mini-muffin liners when I need them. So I stocked up.

After Christmas Sales

Now is the time to start looking for stuff to put back for next year. The last couple of years I have scored really cute gift boxes or bags for 1/2 off right after Christmas and put them back for the next year. I don't care for wrapping gifts, so I love having bags or boxes to use!

If you can find plain or solid colored ones, they can be used throughout the year.

If you have willpower (which I don't have much of, LOL), buy Christmas candy on markdown and use the reds for Valentine activities/treat bags and the greens for St. Patrick's Day.

Be sure and share your great finds with me at Tracy.Hinton@gmail.com and I'll post them on the blog. Send the details and pictures (if you have some).

Review of Idahoan Cheesy Hash Brown potatoes

This week, Tom, Tasha, and I tried the free box of Idahoan FarmHouse Fix'n Cheesy Hash Browns.

And well...honestly, I was underwhelmed. I mean, they were okay and we ate them. But they seemed kind of bland to me. I cannot really say what they needed, but they needed something. More seasoning, perhaps? I can definitely say that I will not be going out and buying them again.

Swagbucks Holiday Bucks

Swagbucks is currently doing Holiday Bucks. If you collect all 5 by Monday night you get a 12 Swagbuck bonus. I didn't have very good luck with the Halloween or Thanksgiving Holiday bucks, but maybe I'll have better luck with the Christmas ones!

Have you tried Swagbucks yet?

Finally went to the Doctor

Since my Christmas vacation started a couple of days early, I decided to go to the doctor yesterday. Luckily, they had a cancellation and I got right in. No bronchitis! Praise God! But I did have a sinus infection. She gave me steroid pills (to dry up the snot-her words, LOL), antibiotics, prescription cough medicine (with Sudafed and narcotic cough syrup). I don't know if it's the steroids or the Sudafed but I am WIDE awake at 4:00 a.m., been up about an hour. LOL. Either way, I already seem to be feeling better (afraid to brag on it too soon. HA!).

Thursday, December 22, 2011

Are you ready for Christmas?

Is everyone ready for Christmas? I just finished wrapping the last of the gifts. I hope. Well, actually I only wrapped a couple, the rest I used gift boxes and gift bags and envelopes. LOL.

The next few days are going to be super busy for me and I don't know how much I'll be on here. Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

Food Pyramid 12-15

After our Victim's Impact Panel meeting in Stillwater last night, we hit Food Pyramid. I spent $8.62 and got:

4 cans of Dole Tropical Fruit, on sale for 99 cents a can. I had 50 cent off coupons that doubled, making them 49 cents a can.

4 cans of Libby's fruit cocktail and 4 cans of Libby's peaches, on sale for $1.19 a pound. With my $1 off two coupon, that made them .69 cents each.

My best deal of the night: 4 cans of Green Giant green beans, on sale for 45 cents a can. With 50 cents off two coupons that doubled, that made them free plus I made 5 cents each! I kind of thought that the coupons would just double up to the amount of the green beans, so I was pleasantly surprised that it took off the extra few cents!

Idahoan FarmHouseFix'ns O'Brien Hash Brown potatoes review

This week, Tom & I tried the free Idahoan FarmHouseFix'ns O'Brien Hash Brown potatoes that we got a while back. We both really liked the flavor and they were very easy to make. You just added milk, boiling water, and margarine, and baked them. However, they were supposed to have green peppers and onions in them and neither one of us could really taste the peppers or onions. That was kind of disappointing. So I don't think I would go out and buy that particular box. Fresh hash brown potatoes with fresh green peppers and onions are much better!

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

If you are going to be near a Food Pyramid grocery store this week, they have their Green Giant canned vegetables on sale for 45 cents a can! Combine that with the 50 cent off two cans of Green Giant vegetables (which they will double) and you could score some free veggies! Obviously, it's probably not worth going way out of your way to do it, but if you're near one anyway, check it out! I'll be in Stillwater Thursday night, so if we have time, maybe we'll run by there.

They also have Best Choice Sugar, 4# bag for $1.69 (limit of one)

United

Several weeks ago (the first weekend of October), I did a promotion at United where if you bought $20 worth of certain items and cut the UPC's off and sent them in along with the receipt, you'd get a $6 United gift card back. After almost 12 weeks of waiting, I finally got the card at the end of last week! It's not huge, but it will buy a few things, especially if I use coupons to stretch it!

Monday, December 12, 2011

FINALLY!

After almost two weeks of this sinus/cold stuff, I woke up this morning with at least a little bit of energy! I hope that means it's about over. I'm still stuffy, but not quite as bad. This was one of the worst colds I've had in a long time. But you want to know what was wonderful about it? It didn't turn into bronchitis like almost every cold I used to get would. Yay for having an airway that isn't blocked! LOL!

Progresso Chicken Cheese Enchilada soup review

I got this soup for the first time a while back on sale with coupons (of course. LOL). Anyway, it is some of the best soup I have ever had! Tom & I both loved it. It is very flavorful and has just a bit of a spicy taste. It has chunks of chicken breast in it and is very creamy. If you like soups, definitely try this one! We've had it twice now and loved it both times! Additionally, if gluten allergies are a problem in your home, this soup is gluten free!

Idahoan boxed potatoes review: Loaded baked potato flavor

I had a coupon to try these for free from the All You magazine. So I got them last month and we tried them earlier this week. Tom & I both really liked them. They had a great flavor and they were super easy to make. We chose to bake them since I had an interview to fill a child care spot that night, that way they could just back while I was talking to the potential clients. If you like scalloped or au gratin potatoes, I highly recommend trying these!

Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of the box. But I have some Idahoan hash brown flavors to try (for free!) next and I'll be sure and take pictures of those for when I review them.

Shark Electric Steam Mop review

During the Wal-Mart Black Friday sale (actually Thanksgiving night), I bought a Shark electronic steam mop for $38. I had been wanting something like it for a while because my floors get so nasty. I had put it off because they were pretty pricey and I was afraid it was something that I wouldn't use.

Anyway after a couple of weeks I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. It works really well and my floor looks really nice after I use it. It's not anymore trouble than using a mop and bucket and in some ways easier. What I like most about it is that the floor is almost immediately dry so I don't have to worry about someone falling and it doesn't use chemicals so I don't have to worry about using it when the kids are here. I have found that if I come across a tough spot that doesn't come up that if I hold the mop over it for a moment and let the steam work it will usually come on up. It's not noisy so I don't have to worry about it scaring the kids.

Complaints about it. Well, it doesn't stand up very well. So when I try to put water in it, it's kind of awkward to try and hold it with one hand while pouring the water in with the other. The electric cord is good and long but it also gets in the way a bit. Hopefully as I use it more, I'll get more adept at it.

K-Mart deal

Last week I noticed that one of my pairs of sweat pants that I wear to work in during the winter were getting pretty worn and I had spilled bleach on another pair. So I went to K-Mart to see if they had some. I like the Joe Boxer brand that they carry. They are fuzzy and warm and have pockets in them. They had some and they were on sale for $8.99 (normally $11.99). I had a $3 off coupon (from the Post cereal I bought) so I got them for $7.49 a pair.

Coupon Binders for Sale

I have coupon binders for sale, $15 each. I have 4 left at this price. The next batch may be more depending on how much I get the next group of binders for. Pictures below (actual binder may vary).

Not feeling great

Well, I was fighting off a cold all week and it finally won. I feel lousy which is why I got nothing written yesterday. I took it easy and did nothing pretty much all day long.

More on Coupons by Dede

Well, I wrote about ordering coupons from Coupons by Dede a while back and how they made a slight mistake in my order. I heard back from them on Monday, November 21st saying they would ship out my coupons and give me a store credit. As of Friday, December 2nd I had not got the coupons yet so I e-mailed again. Today I got a response saying that there was a "delay" in shipping out my order and they would get them in the mail tomorrow. She sent me a gift certificate for $1.50. I guess that's my "store credit". Anyway, right now I"m not feeling very impressed with them. I'll probably order again just to see how it goes though. I realize that with everything they do, it's probably inevitable that they'll make mistakes. So...I'll keep you posted!

Ways to earn points on Swagbucks!

There are several ways to earn points on Swagbucks and probably more that I don't know about yet.

Searches: Use their search box to conduct internet searches (like you would with Google, etc.) and you will randomly be awarded points.

Daily Polls: Each day there is a different poll, you get one swagbuck for voting in it.

NOSO: No obligation Special Offers. Follow the links, fill out the ones you're interested in and skip the rest (I frequently just go through and skip them all). That's usually good for 2-3 points.

Games: There are a whole bunch of games. Some of them are pretty fun. If you enter tournaments you get chances to win big amounts of points, but it costs you points to enter, so you are kind of taking a chance. If you like games and just want to play games, you'll randomly be awarded points at the end of some of the games.

Swagbucks TV: You can watch short videos on Swagbucks TV and your "swag meter" will go up. Once you've reached 100%, you'll receive swagbucks.

Check your Swagbucks inbox: You'll get periodic special offers there. Several of them are really simple like watching a short video and answering a question about it.

Sign up to follow them on Twitter, they send out swag codes that you can enter to get swag bucks.

Follow the Swagbucks blog.

If you use Swagbucks and I've missed anything really obvious, please let me know!

You should try Swagbucks!

Yes, I'm pushing Swagbucks again! LOL. It is really awesome, if you don't believe me, ask some of my friend who use it. If you don't use it, then send me an e-mail at Tracy.Hinton@gmail.com and I'll send you a referral link (I get points when my referrals do searches).

Do you have other great sites that you like to use? Please share them with me! If you will write a paragraph about it, I will post it on the blog. And if I don't use it already, I'll sign up!

Hooray for cold medicine and coupons

Well, everyone around me has a snotty nose and now I have it too. ICK! Thankfully I'm stocked up on cold medicine that I got with coupons so that's a real blessing! On that note, if you have any of the Alka Seltzer Plus $2 off coupons that you won't use, I will use them so please send them my way!

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

Check for expired coupons

Lots of coupons will be expiring today so check your binders and get rid of the expired ones. Nothing more embarrassing or depressing than thinking you got a great deal and realizing as you're checking out that your coupons are expired. LOL.

Keep an eye out for fall clearance items

With Thanksgiving over and Christmas fast approaching, keep an eye out for fall clearance items. Fall decorative and themed items will be getting marked down. I got some really nice honey colored bowls for $1.50 (a 4 pack) last week. They are big and sturdy and will be great for soups, cereal, etc.

Women of Faith bargain

I keep forgetting to share about my Women of Faith bargain. First of all, I won a gift bag that our group leader was giving away. It had a t-shirt, 2 books, and a worship music CD in it. Then our group leader gave us each little treat bags and in it were $5 coupons good for the Women of Faith vendors. Now in all the years I've been going to Women of Faith, I have avoided the vendors because it's too tempting to buy stuff. So I took my $5 coupon and went looking. I found a devotional/journal book that was $10 and so I bought it, with the coupon, I got it for $5. After I got home, I noticed on the back that it was normally priced $20! So I got a great deal and now I have a nice little hardback journal.

Mandy's Black Friday Deals

Mandy from Work at Home Adventures shared her great Black Friday deals with us!

We had a great day of Black Friday shopping. We started out at Wal-Mart. I got the Shark floor cleaner for $38 which saved $21! It works amazing. I also got towels for $1.28 and kids pajamas for as low as $4.47! We picked up a few other small things. After that, we went home for the night and stayed up. We moved on to Sears where we stood in line for 45 minutes outside. It actually wasn’t too cold. We got a side by side refrigerator we have been wanting. It is normally $1379 and we only paid $699 for it! That savings alone was worth the entire night.

The last place we went to was JC Penney’s. We got my husband a suit jacket for $70 that is normally $180. He also got several shirt/tie sets cheap and some dress pants that are normally $70 for only $25! Over all it was a great night of shopping and we saved a ton of money!

I also went to Old Navy on Thanksgiving day. They had coats that are normally $55 for only $20. I used a coupon which made them $16.50 each!

GREAT Food Pyramid deals 11-25-11

Tom and I hit Food Pyramid today. My total after coupons was $24.91. I had a $10 off $50 Black Friday coupon, plus other coupons. Here's the breakdown. I bought 34 items so with the $10 off coupon, I'll take an additional 29 cents off each item.

Tomato Soup: 12 cans @ 50 cents each, 40 cents off four can coupons, doubled, made them 30 cents each. With the extra 29 cents from the $10 coupon, they were .01 each!

2 boxes of Archway cookies on sale 2/$5 with 45 cent coupon doubled, made them $1.60 each. $1.31 with the extra 29 cents off.

7 bags of C&H sugar, on sale for $2.39. I had four 50 cent off coupons that doubled, bring them down to $1.39 a bag, $1.10 with the extra 29 cents. I had three 75 cent off coupons that brought the rest of them down to $1.64 a bag, $1.35 a bag with the extra 29 cents off.

1 bottle of Gain dishwashing liquid, .99 cents, had a 50 cent coupon that doubled, so free (plus the 29 cents from the $10 coupon!)

3 Dawn with Olay, $1.35 each. Had one $1 off coupon, making one of them 35 cents, 6 cents with the 29 cents. Had two 50 cents off coupons, making the other two 6 cents after the 29 cents taken off.

2 regular Dawn, $1.39 each, two 50 cent coupons that doubled, making them 39 cents each, 10 cents after taking the 29 cents off.

2 boxes of Biscuick, $2.35 with two 50 cents off coupons that doubled. Made them $1.35, $1.06 after the 29 cents.

2 boxes of Progresso Panko bread crumbs, $2.65 each with two 50 cent off coupons that doubled. Made them $1.65 minus the 29 cents, $1.36 each.

3 bottles of Mr. Clean, $3.29 each. Had a buy 2, get 1 free coupon, so that brought them down to $6.58 for two. I used another 50 cent off coupon that doubled, bringing it down to $5.58 for three, minus 29 cents each: $4.71 total or: $1.57 each.

Did you brave the crowds?

Did you brave the crowds and go shopping this Black Friday? If so, what kinds of deals did you get? If you want to share them with me, e-mail me at Tracy.Hinton@gmail.com and I'll post them.

We needed a new coffeemaker and Wal-mart had one on sale for $9.44 so I got that, plus a Shark floor cleaner for $38, not sure how much it usually was. It was crazy!!!!! Oh my goodness! I think next time I might just pay full price for a coffeemaker. LOL.

Coupons by Dede review

Last week I submitted my first order to Coupons by Dede on Wednesday. I paid $6.04 for 10 Libby's $1/4 vegetable coupons, 20 $1/2 Libby's fruit coupons, and 5 $1/4 Progresso soup coupons. The coupons arrived very quickly, I got them on Friday, that was very impressive. As I checked my order, I discovered that I had 22 fruit and 8 vegetable. That was a little disappointing. I e-mailed them right away and got an e-mail this morning that they would be sending me out the other Libby's coupons and have issued me a store credit (I am not sure for how much).

So, overall, I would definitely recommend Coupons by Dede, I thought that was a very small mistake considering the number of coupons they probably package and mail out each day.

Pretty Bummed

Well, noone came to my first class tonight. I was pretty disappointed. But I guess it gives me more time to fine tune it, right?

A chance to help

If your stockpile is getting a little too high and you want the chance to share with a family who needs help. Our church has a family of 5 we are doing a food shower for. The dad recently had back surgery and will be off work for several weeks. He works for a farmer so he doesn't get paid while he is off. With it being Thanksgiving and Christmas time, this is an especially tough time for this to be going on. Anyway, if you have stuff you'd like to donate, let me know and I can get it to the church. But most importantly, keep this family in your prayers. Thanks!

Product Review: Progresso Creamy Mushroom Soup

Generally, I buy the condensed mushroom soups for cooking, but recently I bought some of the Progresso Creamy Mushroom soup on sale with a coupon. A large can of it was around $1 with the coupon.

I've used it to make roast twice now. It's not condensed, so I just pour it in the bottom of the slow cooker. Instead of having diced mushrooms, it has whole mushroom slices in it which Tom loves. It has a really good flavor and makes our roast taste really scrumptious.

We haven't tried it on it's own, so I can't really say how it is alone. But for cooking and recipes, I'd highly recommend the Progresso Creamy Mushroom soup.

Check today's paper for Saturday one day sales

I am gone today for the Women of Faith conference, but be sure and check out Saturday's News & Eagle to see what Jumbo's Saturday One Day Sale items are! Remember they are usually while supplies last, no rain checks!

Product Review: Planters Peanut Butter

We aren't generally name brand snobs when it comes to most foods. But when it comes to peanut butter, we pretty much have to go name brand. We had been using the Great Value (Wal-Mart) Peanut Butter and the Peter Pan (when I found it on sale) until the whole salmonella thing a few years ago with them. I haven't bought either since then. Just can't bring myself to do it! So since then, regardless of price, I've pretty much stuck to Jif. A few months ago, we were out of peanut butter and I was at the grocery store in Medford. They had a new peanut butter out by Planters. Since it was new, it was on sale. So I thought, well, it's Planters, it's got to be good, right? So I bought it and it got the Tom stamp of approval! He liked it as well, if not better than the Jif! Since then, I've got several great deals on the Planters peanut butter. I got it on sale for 99 cents a jar at United, and even got one jar for 49 cents with a store coupon. We've tried both the creamy and crunchy and they're both really good.

If your family likes peanut butter, I highly recommend giving the Planter's peanut butter a try!

Here are some more pictures of the coupon binders. Each binder will have 15 regular (9 slot) baseball card pages, 2 four slot pages, and 2 three slot pages, 12 labeled dividers, and an index page. Price Book

These are the price books that I am making to sell at my classes. Each book has 15 pages and a cover page. Each page will be to track the prices of one item. As of right now, I am planning to hole punch them for people to either put into their coupon binders or to put into a binder or folder of their own. I need some input on prices though. I'm not very good at this! Thoughts?

Watch those Register Reward expiration dates!

If you are going to Walgreen's to do some of your coupon shopping, be sure and watch your Register Reward expiration dates. They can sneak up on you and expire. I've noticed they usually expire two weeks from the date issued. I recently had a couple of $1 RR's expire because I forgot about them. I looked for them on the day that I thought they expired and couldn't find them. So I thought I must have used them and didn't remember. Well, turns out I hadn't. I found them a few days later. UGH. $2 down the drain! I don't like that!

So, pick a spot to put your RR's in your coupon binder (or whatever you use) and make sure you use them before they expire!

Have you tried Swagbucks?

Have you tried Swagbucks? I signed up for it a few months ago after hearing Money Saving Queen talk about it. I have earned almost 2000 points as of yesterday. The points can be redeemed towards gift cards or tons of other things in the Swag Store. Most of my points were earned through doing searches on Swagbucks (rather than Google), some by doing surveys, and some by using Swagcodes. I turned in some of my points yesterday towards Amazon gift cards and plan to turn in some more today. It is 450 points for a $5 gift card so I should be able to get $20 worth with what I have so far. If you haven't signed up and do decide to sign up, please sign up under me because I get credit for that.

If you are interested, let me know and I'll figure out how to send you an invitation.

Product Review: Red Gold Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies

I have decided to do some product reviews of items that I have bought on sale and/or with coupons that we might not have tried before.

First item up is: Red Gold Diced Tomatoes and Green Chilies (similar to Rotel). I bought these at United for 25 cents a can a few weeks ago. I used a couple of cans with a block of Velveeta cheese to make nacho dip recently. This turned out so much better than using salsa (which is what I normally use). The dip was spicy but not so spicy I couldn't eat it (I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy food). I also used a can this past weekend in some homemade cheese sauce I made and it also turned out really well.

Bottom line, I was impressed with the Red Gold Diced Tomatoes and Green Chilies product. I will definitely buy it again! (Note, it is on sale for 50 cents a can starting Wednesday, November 9th at Jumbo's in Enid).

K-mart Ad November 6th-12th

This week at K-mart:

They have 10 pound bags of potatoes for 99 cents! This is a great price. It says "not available in all stores" so I would call before making a special trip to see if they have it.

There was a coupon in Sunday's paper for $1 off two Post cereals which would bring your cost down to $2 a box (if you have two coupons you can use)

Scott 8 regular (1,000 ct) or 12 extra-soft double rolls, Scott 6 mega rolls paper towels or Cottonelle 12 rolls bath tissue: 2/$10. Plus there was a 50 cent off Cottonelle coupon in Sunday's paper, which would bring it down to $4.50 per package.

Shop your way Rewards members get a free 2 liter of 7-up with the purchase of 4 twelve packs of 7-up products (on sale 4/$12).

Wesson vegetable oil 48 oz, Shop Your Way Reward member's super coupon, $2.49 each, limit 5 with coupon

All laundry detergent or All Baby Care, Snuggle 50 oz, or All Small & Mighty 32 oz, $2.99 each with Shop Your Way Rewards Member super coupon. There was a 50 cents off All coupon in yesterday's paper which you can combine with this store coupon to make them $2.49 each.

I am sure there is stuff I have missed, so be sure and check out K-mart's ad online.

How do you organize your trips?

My friend Frazzled Mom asked an excellent question in the comment section. So I'm posting it so I can write a blog about it. She wants to know how you organize your trips? And how do you keep track at the register? Post in the comment section and let me know!

Count Chocula cereal for 99 cents a box!

I was in Jumbo's picking up the Diet Dr. Pepper and Diet Coke 20 packs and the 10 pound bag of potatoes that were on sale when I saw Count Chocula marked down to 99 cents a box! Tom loves Count Chocula and I'm sure the kids will enjoy it too. They didn't expire until next August so the only reason I can figure they marked them down was that they must have been seasonal for Halloween.

United Bargains November 5th, 2011

I went to United this morning and got:

5 jars of peanut butter (99 cents a jar, they subbed Jif because they were out of Planters).
2 bottles of Gillette Body wash (32 cents each after rain checks and coupons)
1 tub of Country Crock butter (19 cents after coupon)
refilled 4 gallons of water (not pictured)
1 dozen eggs ($1.19 on sale, minus 50 cents from the rain check coupon for 69 cents)

My total was $8.99!

What if you run into problems?

It is probably unavoidable that you will run into some kind of problem when you're couponing. Frequently, the problem is with an untrained cashier. I had a cashier who griped the entire time she was scanning my coupons as if those 35 cent coupons were coming directly out of her pocket!

What is the best way to handle these problems? Make sure you are in the right. Ask to see the coupon just to double check the small print (remember my $3 only good in Canada coupon? LOL).

Remain calm and friendly. (this one is a real challenge for me!). When I used some of my Bar S coupons last Saturday, I had the cashier try to tell me that I couldn't use them on the garlic bologna because it was for original only. Which is NOT what it said at all. It said "ANY package of 16 oz Bar S franks or bologna". I patiently pointed that out to her. Turns out the reason the coupon wouldn't scan was because the meat was marked down so it wasn't scanned into the register using the bar code (which I had tried to tell her already, but whatever, LOL).

Next, if necessary, call a manager over and ask them for help. Still remain calm and friendly (again, still a challenge for me). On Saturday on the same United trip, I had a manager get really hateful with me because he was going to have to "manually enter every one of those coupons". I had 6 coupons. It wasn't like I had 100 of them! I just bit my tongue and let it go (although I am still considering writing a letter to the corporate office)

What if things cannot get worked out and you KNOW you are right? Sometimes you just have to walk away and try again later. But whatever you do, do not let it discourage you from using coupons. Cashiers and managers have bad days, just like we do. Just take a deep breath and walk away. If you're still bothered by it a few days later, you can look into writing a letter to the company to voice your concerns.
