Staples this week

This week (through Saturday, January 19th), Staples has more 100% back in Staples Reward deals:

Cardboard storage boxes (limit 2)

Plastic file totes (limit 2)

Avery Binders (limit 4)

They are also running the HP ink promo again. If you buy $50 in HP ink, you get $6 in Staples Rewards for every empty ink cartridge you turn in, compared to the normal $2 per cartridge, up to a max of 5. I didn't get to turn mine in last week because I didn't have $50 to spend on ink. Hopefully I'll be able to do it this week because I will have 5 cartridges to turn in.

Start planning now for next Christmas

A good way to save money is to start planning ahead for next Christmas now. How can you do that? Well, there are many ways and I'm not very good at them, but the times that I've done some of them, I've been much more relaxed about the holidays. This year I'm going to have a grandbaby to shop for and I plan to spoil that little one! LOL. So my goal this year is to start now. Here's my plan:

1. Make a list of who I need to buy for and put it in my purse. Also put on there the gift exchanges I need to buy for.

2. Start watching sales for items to fit the people/exchanges on my list. As I purchase gifts, write down the gifts on the list (and write down where I put them, lol).

3. When possible, use coupons/gift cards to help pay for the costs of the gifts. There are many programs out there that can help you do that. Gift Hulk and Swagbucks are both rewards programs where you earn points and can redeem them for gift cards. These can be saved throughout the year and used to buy gifts for Christmas. Another thing I used this year was Staples Rewards. As I mentioned in a post earlier this week, I earn Staples Rewards coupons when I turn in ink cartridges. You can also earn them on items you purchase in the store. I had bought some batteries (that I needed anyway) that were 100% back in Staples Rewards and when I got that coupon, I took it in there and used it to help buy some Christmas gifts. I also used a Sears automotive card I got. It was a $25 off $25 or more purchase, but could only be used in the automotive department at Sears. I could have used it for the repair shop, an oil change, etc. I chose to use it to buy some things in the automotive department.

How do you plan for the holidays? Please share your thoughts in the comment section!

Oh and keep in mind, this can be a great time of year to stock up on gift items, many of those items are marked down after Christmas!

Staples ad March 25th-31st

This week at Staples, there are some fairly good deals:

Staples paper 8.5x11, 5000 case, $48.99 with a $24 Easy Rebate, makes it $24.99 a case. You can get up to two rebates this way.

Speaking of Staples and Easy Rebates, I just discovered recently that you can have your Easy Rebates sent to PayPal instead of waiting on a check. The first time, I wasn't impressed because they ended up sending me a check anyway but the next time I used it, I got the PayPay refund in about 4 weeks rather than the almost 8 weeks I waited for the check.

There is a $5 off $25 cleaning and break room purchase in the ad (you can also go print it off online). Staples does accept manufacturer's coupons so you may be able to stretch that coupon even farther.

100% back on Staples Rewards with a return address stamp purchase (value up to $21.99)

Staples deals October 29th

I used the $5 off $25 Staples janitorial paper product coupon today along with manufacturer coupons to get some awesome deals at Staples on Saturday. I spent a total of $22.26 for all that's pictured below!

I got 5 eight packs of Bounty Basic paper towels. They were on sale for $4.99 a pack. I had two $1 off coupons and three 25 cent off coupons, bringing them down to $3.99 and $4.74 a pack, respectively. Then with the $5 off $25 coupon, it took an average of 71 cents per item off, bring them down to $3.28 and $4.03 per package. I know it's alot of paper towels, but with the child care, I do use them like crazy and this was a really good deal.

I also got 2 containers of Lysol disinfecting wipes on sale for $2.49 each. I had $1 off coupons for each of them, bringing them down to $1.49. Then with the additional 71 cents off, it brought them down to 78 cents each!

Staples: Week of October 23rd-October 29th

This week in Staples Weekly Ad:

Their 8 pack of Bounty Basic is on sale for $4.99 (there are 25 cent off coupons manufacturer coupons available for these)
The 16 pack Big Rolls of Charmin Basic in on sale for $6.99 (There are also 25 cent off manufacturer coupons available for these.

There is also a coupon for $5 off $25 janitorial paper item's coupon. I couldn't tell for sure if you could use your manufacturer coupons along with this one. It looked like you could, but you couldn't count the cost towards the $25 minimum purchase. You can look at the coupon on the website and print it off from there.

100 pack Memorex DVD-R are on sale for $9.99! It says this is a savings of $50!

And remember you can turn in empty ink cartridges there to get Staples Rewards. It's a bit of a hassle, but worth it.

Staples (week ending 10-22-11)

This week (expires on Saturday, October 22nd), Staples has a coupon for $5 off a $25 in store purchase. You can print it off of their website by going to their weekly ad. Just be sure and read the small print. It's not valid on HP ink or toner purchases or on any purchase that already has an instant discount applied to it.

A case of Staples copy paper is on sale for $29.99 (save $18 instantly)

None of these items say anything about "instant savings" so I'm assuming you can use the coupon on them. Be sure and check for yourself if you go in.

5 pack of 3x5 notepads $2

Letter size writing pads $1

They have cute little animal 4 gb flash drives for $9.99, these might make good stocking stuffers for Christmas.

They also have a 8 gb USB flash drive for $10, another good stocking stuff idea

And a 4 gb SDHC memory card, $9.99
